Year 5 - Ennis and Simmonds

Summer Term

In Year 5 we plan a range of experiences and opportunities, including some involving the idea of apprenticeship, for the children to participate in throughout the school year.  Our aim is to develop their skills and understanding of the curriculum and the world they are in to help prepare them for the future.

This term we will be working on:

decimals and shapes.

In English we will be working on two texts:

‘The Jabberwocky’ and ‘The Poacher’.

Class Read

In Science, we will be learning about lifecycles.

In Geography, we will be learning about Brazil and biomes.

PE Day

PE is on Thursday.  Please ensure correct kit is worn all day.

Our Homework

In Year 5, children should:

  • Practise their Maths targets.
  • Practise their spellings.
  • Read every day, recording it at least four times a week.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with a member of the Year 5 team should you need any support helping your child at home.
