Following the design of the school logo, staff at Barry Primary School & Nursery developed the logo strapline
“Together we care, learn and grow.”
As with the logo, this has CARE at its heart.
The diversity in the hands is reflected in the word “Together” – it is the school’s link in partnership with our diverse community.
Like the shield, we are stronger together; like the tree, we grow.

Our school logo was designed with CARE at its heart. Diversity and togetherness are an integral part of our school life and ethos. When the design of the heart, lettering and hands were created, it was the children’s idea to form the tree to represent growth and the golden shield to represent strength.

Our Mission Statement
We aim to:-
- Put children at the heart of everything we do.
- Create an exciting, inspiring and nurturing environment for our children to enjoy and feel safe.
- Help support each other's wellbeing and positive mental health through kindness.
- Be uncompromising in our aspirations for our children by creating strong foundations for future success and a love of life-long learning.
- Have a strong reputation for success in the academic curriculum as well as valuing the creative curriculum to enrich children’s broader education.
- Be recognised as a school that values the importance of ‘togetherness’ and diversity as well as being respectful of individuality.
British Values
We promote in our school the fundamental British Values: democracy; individual liberty; the rule of law; mutual respect; tolerance of those with different faiths and belief. This is done through our assemblies, our PSHE, SMSC and RE curriculum, our school council and our wider modelling of these values through expectations of behaviour from all.
